Most thinspo/Ana blogs on tumblr are not pro Ana. No one is interested in encouraging others to develop a seriously fucked up and dangerous eating disorder. Blogs that post thinspo pics are usually run by teenagers/young adults who are going through hell and would be starving themselves anyway. By reporting and shutting down those blogs, you take away people’s safe spaces, their outlets, and their community. You are helping no one. No one gets an eating disorder because they saw someone on tumblr post a picture of someone thin. You’re not being noble, you’re not saving anyone, you’re being rude and taking something away from someone who already has nothing. If someone gets their thinspo blog deleted, they’re not going to be like “oh well, gonna eat normally now and be totally healthy, cool”. They make a new one and hate you. My blog is for no one else. It is for me. If I couldn’t have it, I would be sad because I wouldn’t have a community and a way to find people going through the same thing, but I would still have an eating disorder and I would just make a new blog. The last thing anyone wants is to help someone else develop a mental illness. Tumblr doesn’t have an option to make your blog private. Stop shutting people down for having an outlet. Most of us have 3 followers anyway.
so true. and yes, you can make a blog private but you have to make it a second blog anyway and that is really unnecessary.

This happened to my previous blog - I DONT support eating disorders, but it’s incredibly important that girls who struggle with them have a community to find help, support, and positive advice.
✨it’s okay if you still have a long way to go until your goal weight.
✨don’t feel discouraged with autumn/winter thinspo imagines if you haven’t got there yet, you will get there soon.
✨weightloss sometimes isn’t linear, focus on how your body looks and how you feel over the number.
✨not everything has to be diet or skinny or without milk or sugar. it’s your diet and decision, you can make up for a normal frap from starbucks with an apple, enjoy your drink.
✨not everything will always be beautiful, not everything will always be lovely and peachy. some days will drag you down into the dirt, rise up.

1. Weight loss takes time. Even 1lb of loss per week, if kept off, is impressive. Racing to lose weight at an unreasonable speed is bad for your motivation and makes you more likely to give up or gain the weight back. A fast but still realistic goal is at most 2.5lbs per week.
2. Stop making promises you can’t keep. Saying things like “I’ll never eat again”, “I’ll never eat junk food”, “I’ll always exercise daily for 2 hours” just sets you up for defeat. Set small, achievable goals, like “I won’t eat junk food this week” or “on Mondays and Fridays I’ll work out for 2 hours”. Do what you are capable of.
3. When you’re actually hungry, eat something small - a piece of toast, a half cup of cereal, a sliced fruit or veggie. This keeps your blood sugar level and prevents cravings as well as stops you from over eating when you have your next meal. Real, dedicated weight loss includes food.
4. Every thinspo tip about water is true. Drink at least 2 litres a day. Flavour with lemon or peppermint tea bags. If you aren’t hydrated, you can’t digest your food or push out toxins, which means bloating, which means slower loss and an uglier fatter body. Drink. Water.
5. Try not to cut calories too hard too quickly. If you’re used to eating 2000cal a day, cutting down to 500cal means you’ll plateau at 500cal way quicker at a higher weight. Cut to 1200, then 1000, then 950, so on and so forth. There’s no use in eating 5 almonds a day if in the end it’s just going to stop you from reaching your goals in a sustainable way.

When the skinny girl develops an eating disorder, she gets hospitalized. But when the fat girl develops an eating disorder she gets congratulated on her amazing weight loss. And that’s fucked up to me.
